Ott Velsberg is the Chief Data Officer for the Estonian government. He oversees strategic coordination and implementation of data science, human-centric data governance and data governance in Estonia, including domains like artificial intelligence and open data, and initiatives such as Bürokratt which is government virtual assistant and consent service to enable sharing of private data held by the government. He is also a Associated researcher in the department of Informatics at Umeå University. His research concentrates on the use of information systems in the public sector, with a special focus on the use of the Internet of Things (IoT).
